Grad School Projects
These were various projects I worked on while I was attending the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2014-2015.

UpTell
Project Link
UpTell is a digital storytelling platform for middle school students to share stories through different mediums (video, images, drawing, text, speech, collaborative mode). Students could share about their lives, learn from others, and obtain perspective about the diversity of the world by interacting with peers. These exchanges would ideally foster better communication and uplift communities.
Challenge: This project was developed at the 2014 HGSE Education Hackathon, a three-day event for student teams to develop online learning solutions addressing issues in education. The issue we chose was re-segregation in schools.
Date: 2014
Tools: Google Suite, Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite
Role: UX Research and Design
Contributions:
I worked in a team of 7 to prototype, test, and pitch our project to a panel of judges.
Results:
Our project was awarded the Impact Award. Our solution was deemed to have the most significant potential for impact in the education sector at the global, national, regional and/or local levels.
I further developed this project in my Universal Design for Learning class. I worked in a team of three to build a more robust prototype for the project within a UDL framework. I assisted with user research and prototyping. I also created the media and marketing materials for this project.

NOM: Nutrition on the Move
Project Proposal
Nutrition on the Move: Nurturing Knowledge for Healthy Habits (NOM) focuses on preventing childhood obesity in low-income communities. As young children do not have control of their life circumstances, this project leverages state-of-the-art technology to empower them with nutritional knowledge while reducing cost barriers for their families.
Date: 2015
Tools: Google Suite
Role: UX Research and Design
Contributions:
I worked in a team of 5 to develop this project for the course HT-123: Informal Learning for Children.
My contributions to this project included research, conducting formative evaluation, and assisting with prototyping.

EdTechTeacher: Self-Paced Course on Formative Assessment Tools
This is a self-paced online learning course on formative assessment tools. This was a course project for T-509: Massive - The Future of Learning at Scale.
Organization: EdTechTeacher
Date: 2015
Tools: Google Sites, Adobe Creative Suite
Role: Online Learning Consultant
Contributions:
I was part of a three-person consultant team in a partner project with EdTechTeacher to use ETT's latent online assets (videos, slides, etc.) to create a structured, open, self-paced online learning course on formative assessment tools.
I developed the "Try It" components for each tool. I collaborated with my team to create the learning goals and overall course structure. I also taught others how to use Google Sites.

Full STEAM Ahead
Project Link
Full STEAM Ahead is a web platform with K-2 STEAM learning games, using constructionism to design a space where students can create their own mode of transportation. It was a course project for T-550: Designing for Learning by Creating.
Date: 2014
Tools: Wix, Unity
Role: UX Research and Design
Contributions:
I was part of a four person team that created a web-based 3D game level that teaches Common Core supported STEM material to K-2 students.
I developed user personas, designed part of the game level in Unity, and conducted initial user testing at 2014 TEDxBeaconStreet.
